Learn new skills

A great addition to your CV. Our conference days are a fun and friendly way to meet other FPIES UK volunteers and educate healthcare professionals on the impact of FPIES on families.

Conference volunteers- ongoing

We have several exciting opportunities for outgoing, enthusiastic conference volunteers across the UK. In this role you will help by attending 1 or 2 local or national allergy, paediatric and healthcare conferences per year. By attending events you will be providing information and relaying your experiences with the public and medical professionals. This engagement is key to raising much needed awareness and maintaining the reputation of the charity.

To perform well in this role, you’ll need:

  • Approximately 1-2 days spare time per year

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Enthusiasm

  • Be happy and able to travel to events

  • Ideally be willing to stay overnight before an event if needed (this won't be necessary for everyone).

  • Be happy to work as a team

  • The ability to work independently

  • The ability to communicate effectively with the public, doctors, dietitians and nurses.

This position is voluntary and thus you will not receive any pay. The charity will however cover all expenses incurred such as travel, cost of phone calls, postage, any overnight accommodation and the cost of childcare whilst attending events.

The role is a great way to keep up your skills whilst on a career break or add to your existing CV and we will happily provide any references needed to future employers. It is also a great way to give back to a community which is so often misunderstood and overlooked.

We have conference stands throughout the year and this role is ongoing so please feel free to apply any time. Peak conference season however is in the autumn and demand for volunteers does rise sharply from September onwards. By applying now you will allow us to plan ahead and cover as many events as possible and reach more medical professionals across the UK.

We will contact you once we have received your application with a list of potential suitable events.

Please send your name and details to enquiries@fpiesuk.org.
